A pro-government tribal leader escaped unscathed an IED attack in Salarzai tehsil of Bajaur Agency

A pro-government tribal leader escaped unscathed an IED attack in Salarzai tehsil of Bajaur Agency on Wednesday. A Salarzai political administration official said an IED planted by the roadside went off when Malik Noor Hakeem’s vehicle reached Baro area of the tehsil. While he remained unhurt, the tribal leader’s car sustained serious damage. Later, the political administration started a search in the area, but no arrests were made. Bajaur Agency shares a border with the Afghan province of Kunar and there have been many incidents in which pro-government tribal elders have been attacked by militants.
