ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has extended summer vacations till August 18.

CADD spokesperson Rafique Tahir told The Express Tribune that the decision has been taken after the federal government asked the ministry to extend vacations due to the planned PTI long march.

CADD has started Independence Day celebrations in educational institutions and CADD minister Barrister Usman Ibrahim has hinted at continuing them for the whole month.

Tahir said that August 14 celebrations would be marked with zeal and fervour at all educational institutions. He said they were also planning to hold an ‘Azadi walk’ at Pakistan Sports Complex, “But it is linked to the situation in the capital on August 14,” he said.

Meanwhile, teachers from ICT colleges have been directed to reach their respective institutes on August 11 to work out strategies regarding Independence Day celebrations.

This has put teachers, especially women, in a difficult situation.
