Gilgit-Baltistan: CM meets WAPDA chief
Chief minister underlines need of working out arrangement for the payment of water usage charges to the GB government.

Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah visited Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) House on Friday and held a meeting with Wapda Chairman Zafar Mahmood.
Matters relating to various water and hydropower projects being implemented by Wapda in Gilgit-Baltistan particularly Diamer Bhasha Dam, Satpara Dam, Bunji, Harpo and Basho Hydropower Projects were discussed during the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that Gilgit-Baltistan was home to enormous water and hydropower potential.
“Harnessing this potential will not only help overcome energy shortages in the country but also go a long way in the socio-economic development of GB,” he said.
During the meeting, the chief minister underlined the need of working out an arrangement for the payment of water usage charges to the GB government.
