Load shedding: Industrialists withdraw protest call
On Thursday, they demanded that load shedding hours be reduced.

Industry and trade organisations on Friday withdrew their decision to protest against electricity load shedding after the authorities promised a load management plan for industries.
The announcement came a day after the All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association said they would take to the streets to protest against incessant power cuts.
The representatives of industrial and trade organisations called off their proposed protest after a meeting with Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) officials.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters’ Association (North Zone) chairman Muhammad Amjad Khwaja, All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association chairman Rizwan Ashraf, Fesco Board of Directors chairman Khurram Mukhtar, FESCO Directors Zia Alam Dar and Faiq Javed and DCO Nurul Amin Mengal.
Mengal said the industrialists had said that although they acknowledged the current situation in the country, the government should review the power load management plan.
“Fesco will issue a revised load management schedule in consultation with businessmen,” the DCO said.
He said he would forward the industrialists’ concerns to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as business activity was very important to him.
