Explosion: High school for boys blown up

No individual or group claims responsibility for such attacks and police register FIRs against unidentified culprits.

SHABQADAR: Two rooms of a government high school in Shabqadar were destroyed when a homemade bomb exploded early Friday while another explosive device was defused by the bomb disposal unit. Police official Haider Khan said the explosion occurred inside Government Boys High School, Ataki Shabqadar around 1am, damaging two rooms. After hearing the sound of the blast, locals informed the police who reached the site and found another bomb which was successfully defused by BDU personnel. According to the BDU, the defused explosive device weighed five kilogrammes. Police started a search operation in the area following the incident but no one was arrested till this report was filed. More than 20 schools have been destroyed in Shabqadar near the border of Mohmand Agency in the past four years.
