Re-appointment: Khawaja made PIMS spokesperson

Khawaja pledged to work to raise public awareness of various diseases.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has appointed Dr Waseem Khawaja as its spokesperson. The former spokesperson, Dr Ayesha, has been transferred to the hospital’s radiology department and has left the charge of the spokesperson, said a notification issued by the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University-Pims Vice Chancellor Dr Javed Akram on Friday. Khawaja had been the hospital spokesperson for more than eight years before Ayesha replaced him and took charge. Talking to the media after his re-appointment, Khawaja pledged to work to raise public awareness of various diseases. He said he will highlight the research activities ongoing at Pims and provide support and information to the media.
