New faculty: Workshop on teaching skills starts at UVAS

A five-day training workshop titled Pre-Service Competency Enhancement Training for Teachers began at the University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences on Tuesday.


Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Dean Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the inaugural session of the workshop organised by the Centre for Educational Policy and Administration (CEPA) for newly-appointed faculty members. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nasim, who is also president of the CEPA, spoke about various aspects of teaching and how to improve teaching techniques. He urged teachers to be role models for students. Dr Habibur Rehman and Dr Hafsa Zainab also spoke on the occasion and explained the objectives of the workshop.

The newly-appointed secretary of the Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Nasim Sadiq, visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and called on Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha on Tuesday.

The vice chancellor briefed the secretary on academic, research, extension and training programmes of the UVAS.  He said the UVAS was playing a key role in the development of livestock through field-oriented research. The secretary and vice chancellor agreed to work together for the development of the livestock sector.
