Seven Uzbek militants killed in Datta Khel

Two soldiers lost their lives; Miramshah, Mirali, Boya, Degan and the area up till Dattakhel cleared

At least seven Uzbek terrorists were killed on Monday in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) when security forces targeted their hideouts in Datta Khel Bazaar.


The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that a snap operation was carried out on hideouts of Uzbek terrorists in the area after which seven suspected militants were killed. Two soldiers also lost their lives.



The military’s media wing added that Operation Zarb-e-Azb was progressing as per plan and achieving the objectives.


“Towns of Miramshah, Mirali, Boya, Degan and the area up till Dattakhel have been cleared. Clearance of pockets of resistance in between Miranshah-Mirali in villages Momin Gul Ziarat, Darpakhel, Tappi, Spalga and south of Tochi river is in progress,” the statement explained.

During the clearance of Mirali’s surrounding areas in Shahbaz Khel, 75 rockets,
a huge cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and suicide jackets were recovered.

One more IED factory was discovered in Umer Ki Kalli, located on the outskirts of Mirali.

During search and clearance, a huge quantity of IEDs, chemicals and propaganda literature were seized, the statement said.
