Pakistan-Italy: Dar extends investment invitation

The Italian ambassador briefed Dar on the ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday assured the Italian Ambassador that both countries will cooperate to enhance trade relations and facilitate investment. The minister informed the ambassador about positive trends in the country’s economy. “We have liberalised our economy in order to facilitate foreign investment in the country,” said Dar, according to a press release issued by the ministry. He said that there is general appreciation by the international financial institutions on the positive outlook and performance of economy during the last year. He highlighted the fact that there are many opportunities for Italian companies and investors to invest in Pakistan, which has a huge market. The Italian ambassador briefed Dar on the ongoing cooperation between the two countries and said that there is an increasing interest in the Pakistani market by Italian investors. He informed that during last year, there has been an increase in trade volume.
