KARACHI:

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended until April 30 a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) allowing airlines operating to and from Pakistan to carry higher quantities of fuel from abroad, in response to ongoing operational concerns linked to the regional situation in the Middle East and fuel supply constraints.

The decision comes amid continued disruptions and logistical challenges in the availability of jet fuel one, prompting aviation authorities to maintain special operational measures for international carriers.

The extension builds on earlier directives issued by the authority, which were introduced to manage fuel planning requirements for airlines operating through Pakistan during a period of regional uncertainty.

Officials said the updated NOTAM further prolongs these arrangements in order to ensure continuity of flight operations and reduce potential operational risks.
