Quick response: Three arrested for robbery

Police have obtained four-day physical remand of the three suspects.

The Shahzad Town police on Saturday arrested three robbers hours after they snatched Rs16,000 and three mobile phones from a workshop in at Abbas Plaza, Shakrial.



Police say the thieves deprived Liaqat Masih, his sons Jabran Masih, Imran Masih, his brother Shehbaz Masih, and his employees of cash and mobile phones at gunpoint. The dacoits injured Jabran when he resisted the robbers. He was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). When informed, the police cordoned off the area and succeeded in arresting the three thieves, identified as Asif Baig, Awais Baig and Amjad.


Police have obtained four-day physical remand of the three suspects. The Police are on the lookout for other members of the gang.


Meanwhile, in Saddar Bairuni area of Rawalpindi, thieves have looted valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from a house. Muhammad Qasim told the police that his family was away and when they returned, they found the locks broken and their valuables missing.
