Govt strategy: PML-N will fulfil all election promises says Mashhood

Law minister says restoration of economy is a real challenge.

LAHORE:

Provincial Law and Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said on Saturday that 2014 was the year of fulfillment of promises made by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) during elections.

He said this while addressing a ceremony at party office in Gulshan-i-Ravi to mark the Independence Day.

“Restoration of economy and elimination of unemployment and inflation are the real challenges,” the minister said.

He said that many world countries had expressed their confidence in the PML-N government.

“The nation wants the complete elimination of terrorists and is ready to help the one million displaced families,” he said.

Mashhood criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and its chairman Imran Khan.

“On the behest of foreign powers, Imran is trying to sabotage operation Zarb-i-Azb,” he said.

He said the country should present a united stance on major issues. “However, Imran Khan is conveying a message to the world that the Pakistani nation is divided,” he said.

Mashhood said that the PTI chief had supported holding talks with terrorists. “The people of FATA want peace and development.

They do not support terrorists,” he said.

“The PTI cannot topple the federal and Punjab governments, but the PML-N can remove the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government within 24 hours if decides to do so,” the minister said.

“If the PTI succeeds in taking one million people to Islamabad on August 14, then the PML-N will take two million people to Peshawar on August 18,” he said.

The minister said the Pakistani people would not allow Imran Khan to destroy the peace and harmony of the country.

He also urged the people to attend another Independence Day event that would be held at the Football Ground of Gulshan-i-Ravi on August 9.

On the occasion, Shahid Chaudhry donated Rs50,000, while Muhammad Yaqoob Bhatti Rs200,000 to the chief minister’s fund for the internally displaced people (IDPs).

Later, while talking to reporters, Mashood rejected the claims made by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervaiz Elahi about an imminent political change in the country.

“The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid leaders have no longer any role in the country’s politics.

They visit the residence of Tahirul Qadri on the hopes of getting back into power,” he said. The minister said the PML-Q would never succeed in its objectives.
