One killed, another injured in firing incident in Hangu
Police says the victims had an old enmity with the accused armed men
HANGU:
A man was killed and another injured when armed men opened fire on a passenger vehicle in the Sor Pul area of Doaba, Hangu district, Saturday morning.
Doaba SHO Khawanullah said that the passenger coach was en route from Sadda Kurram Agency to Hangu, adding that when it reached the Sor Pul area, armed men already present there opened fire on the vehicle.
The official further said that as a result of the firing, Nasir, a resident of Toara Wari, Doaba, was killed on the spot, while another man, identified as Abdullah, a resident of Lakki Marwat, was injured.
He added that the alleged assailants managed to flee the scene of crime. All other passengers escaped the attack.
Khawanullah said an FIR was registered against Daulat Khan on the complaints of the heirs of the deceased and an investigation has been started. He further added that they have also learnt that the family of the victim had an old enmity with the accused.
