Fashion Police: Striping it up

Outfit

Nicole Richie has always been praised for her quirky and bold sense of fashion. However, we might have to give that another thought, after looking at this outfit. Nicole is wearing an Alberta Ferretti ensemble, which includes a high-waisted skirt and a cropped top with floral embellishments on the shoulders. Although, the stripes trend is all the rage these days, stripes here are doing nothing chic or classy for Nicole. The floral embellishment is also not complimenting the look and instead making Nicole look more of a tangerine mess than a diva that she usually is. The overall look could have worked if the top did not have that unnecessary embellishment on its shoulders and the stripes were a little less bold in terms of colour combination, design and maybe the length.

Hair and Make-up

Nicole looks a like bit of a Plain Jane in terms of make-up here. Her skin looks dewy and fresh but lacks that oomph factor. Maybe she was aiming to bring out the outfit by keeping the make-up minimalistic. However, by keeping her face so bland, she got attention for all the wrong reasons. Her hair-do is just as boring and does nothing to improve her over-all look. A simple yet chic ponytail would have actually done wonders and would have made her ensemble a little less hurtful for the eyes.

Accessories

The minaudière that she is carrying is probably the only saving grace of her overall look. She kept accessories to a minimum by choosing to wear rings and no earrings. Her decision to keep accessories to a minimum probably made the look a little less disastrous.

Bail Out!

Chitrangada Singh



This Bollywood beauty definitely knows how to work with her curves. She chose a mid-length dress over here that incorporates the stripe trend in the chicest way. Her dark bold eyes and matte foundation along with minimalistic lip colour gives her a very sultry and seductive look. On the whole, Chitrangada is rocking the stripe trend by going for an outfit that nicely balances black and white

Deepika Padukone



Known for her amazing body, Deepika wears this striped gown by Naeem Khan. This one shoulder gown accentuates Deepika’s fit physique and brings that chic factor to the red carpet. Her crimson red lips and peachy cheeks prove to be the perfect look to go with this outfit. The glam minaudière she carries completes her look and adds a classic vintage touch to her ensemble.
