Free diagnostic tests offered by AKWS

Hospitals, laboratories providing free dengue diagnostic tests, nearly 5,000 people affected by the virus in Pakistan.

KARACHI: Al-Khidmat Welfare Society (AKWS), Karachi President Mohammad Hussain Mehanti announced, on Sunday, that AKWS hospitals and laboratories are providing free dengue diagnostic tests.

Nearly 5,000 people have been affected by the virus in Pakistan, while most of them are from Karachi, said Mehanti. “Dengue tests can cost up to Rs2,000 at private laboratories and many patients are unable to afford them,” he said.

The free tests are being offered at AKWS hospitals in: Nazimabad No. 2, Sakhi Hassan, Shah Colony No. 1, Nazimabad near Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Power House Chowrangi, North Karachi, Korangi No. 2.5 and Orangi Town No 4.75, he added.

Anonymous | 13 years ago | Reply Free Dengue tests, it is another good effort by Al-Khidmat Welfare Society, however such types of tasks should be done at other cities as well such as in Lahore, Peshawar, Twin cities etc.
