Securing eid: Police leave cancelled

The SSP said police deployment at markets has been increased

ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police have cancelled leave of all police officials to ensure maximum security during the last phase of Ramazan and during the Eid holidays. Police have heightened security of all markets and worship places in the city to avert any incident of violence. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Ali Nekukara has directed all zonal officers to ensure effective patrolling of shopping centres in their jurisdiction. Nekukara also directed policemen deputed at mosques to be on the lookout for miscreants and frisk all individuals entering the premises. The SSP said police deployment at markets has been increased and officials have been instructed to be prepared to react to any emergency.
