KARACHI: The prospective MPhil and PhD students of the University of Karachi (KU), who had complained to have been unduly failed due to administrative negligence, will have the opportunity to re-sit a portion of their entrance test on Sunday. Earlier on July 4, The Express Tribune had published the news story that the university has put the careers of many candidates, who were vying for admissions to its MPhil and PhD programmes at stake, after the varsity officials failed to communicate the purported modifications in the admission rules to their own department heads. The varsity registrar had announced on Friday that the National Testing Service (NTS) qualified candidates for admissions to the MPhil and PhD programmes, who did not attempt the English and communication skills section of the entrance test due to the misunderstanding that their NTS test scores will be acceptable, are advised to contact the KU’s board of advanced studies.
