Power cuts: Protesters threaten strike

The protesters threatened that if Wapda did not end the frequent power cuts, they would observe a strike on Friday.

MUZAFFARABAD:
Dozens of residents and traders of Mirwaiz Road staged a protest on Sunday against unscheduled load-shedding during iftar and sehri in the main areas of the state’s capital. The protesters took to the streets and shouted slogans against the Water and Power Development Authority and Azad Jammu and Kashmir electricity department. “During Ramazan, people have to contend with unscheduled power cuts while government officials enjoy uninterrupted electricity,” said a trader at the protest, Atif Bashir. The protesters threatened that if Wapda did not end the frequent power cuts, they would observe a strike on Friday.
