FAISALABAD:

Divisional Commissioner Akram Javed on Thursday ordered disciplinary action against two tehsil municipal authority (TMA) employees due to mismanagement in Ramazan bazaars.

In-charge of a sugar stall, Adil, who is a TMA Iqbal Town inspector, and Model bazaar Administrator Muhammad Sadiq were suspended from duty for not maintaining the record of sugar sale at the Ramazan Bazaar located at Jhang Road.

The commissioner took action against the TMA workers during his visit to the bazaar.

During the inspection, the commissioner visited various stalls and asked the customers about the arrangements at the bazaar. The customers complained about mismanagement at the sugar stall. The commissioner asked the staff in-charge to produce the record of sugar sale. However, he failed to do so.

The commissioner ordered immediate action against the sugar stall in-charge. He directed the staff to improve the supply of sugar for the convenience of consumers.

The commissioner also ordered the authority to set up additional stalls to sell chicken due to high consumer demand.

Later, the divisional commissioner also inspected Ramazan bazaar at Kaleem Shaheed Park, Ghulam Muhammadabad. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and directed the management to take all steps to provide relief to the people.

Faisalabad Regional Police Officer Muhammad Nawaz Warriach also accompanied the commissioner. He checked the security arrangements at Ramazan bazaars and directed policemen to perform their duties with vigilance to ensure foolproof security for the people.

Separately, Faisalabad District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal visited the fruit and vegetable market at Sadhar Jhang Road early on Thursday morning.

“We are monitoring the vegetables and fruit prices in the markets on a daily basis to control the wholesale prices of these items,” Mengal told journalists during the visit.
