FAISALABAD: Sunni Ittehad Council Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Mirza said a case should be registered against those responsible for diverting Dr Tahirul Qadri’s plane to Lahore on Monday.

Mirza said the PML-N leadership was guilty of hoodwinking the people of Pakistan when it held Pervez Musharraf and his cronies responsible for orchestrating a false hijacking attempt on October 12, 1999.

He said the fact that the government went all out to impede a befitting reception for Qadri was emblematic of the respect it held for democratic norms and practices.
