PM advises PTA to suspend roaming services on Afghan SIMS
Law enforcement agencies had made the request in order to reduce acts of terrorism.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday advised the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend roaming services currently extended to Afghan Subscriber Information Modules (SIMs), Express News reported.
The advice was given to the PTA following a request from law enforcement agencies in order to reduce acts of terrorism.
Afghan SIMs with roaming facility in Pakistan – particularly in the tribal areas – pose a serious threat to security not only to the public, but also their representatives.
These SIMs are being used in terror-related incidents, extortion and other crimes, according to reports.
