Fatal attacks: Two policemen killed in 'targeted' violence

Two policemen were shot dead in separate acts of target killings in different parts of the city on Wednesday.


ASI Tahir Ghazi, 43, son of Ghazi Hussain, was shot dead in an act of target killing at Khudadad Colony within the limits of the Brigade police station. SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi said that the deceased was posted to the Soldier Bazaar police station and the incident took place when he was on his way to the Jamshed divisional office at Ferozabad on his motorcycle. At least two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at him. He was shot him multiple times and taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.


Similarly, a head constable, Saeed Ahmed, 40, son of Abdul Majeed, was shot dead on main MA Jinnah Road. Preedy police station SHO Ghazanfar Kazmi said Ahmed was posted as a driver to the Central Jail, Karachi and was on his way to duty when armed motorcyclists killed him. He was shot at multiple times and died on the spot.
