Protesters chanted slogans against Dr Shahbuddin for neglecting the staff and demanded his suspension. “Our protest will continue till the suspension of the doctor,” said Class-IV association provincial president Abdul Sattar.
He said a Class-IV employee, Irshad Nasir, was injured during a road accident on Thursday. When he was brought to orthopedic ward of LRH, Dr Shahabuddin allegedly refused to treat him.
When contacted, Shahabuddin denied the accusations, saying he did not refuse treatment to any patient; rather, it was a conspiracy against him by the employees.
“I was not on-duty the day Nasir was brought in. My junior doctor Iqtedar Khan operated on him,” Shahabuddin added.
LRH Chief Executive Professor Dr Muzaffar said an enquiry committee has been formed under the supervision of a medical superintendent. The committee will submit their report in two days after which action will be taken against those responsible.
