Safe transfusion: Blood donor day observed

ISLAMABAD:

World Blood Donor Day 2014 was observed on Saturday across the globe including Pakistan to highlight the importance of access to safe blood to ensure maternal health and well-being.

For year 2014, the theme selected is safe blood for saving mothers. The day will increase awareness about why timely access to safe blood and blood products is essential for all countries as part of a comprehensive approach to prevent maternal deaths.
