Police recover two bodies

DI KHAN: The bodies of two men were recovered from Kot Azam, Tank district, an official of the Gomal police station said on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Nazir and Mehmood, were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy.

According to the police official, there was a firing incident in Kot Azam area of Gomal union council late Tuesday night during which the two persons were killed. The official refused to provide further details about the deceased or who their heirs were.

Police lodged a case against unidentified persons after recovering the bodies. Locals told The Express Tribune that members of the Tank Aman Committee were attacked by unidentified armed men in Kot Azam on Tuesday night and in retaliation, the peace committee members killed two of the attackers. However, there was no official confirmation that the bodies found on Wednesday were of the alleged attackers.
