LAHORE:

Lahore High Court took notice on Monday of the slow rate of disposal of cases involving complaints filed by overseas Pakistanis.

The judge directed the district judiciary to clear the backlog of all such cases filed up to 2011 within the next six months.

A member of the Inspection Team Iftikhar Khan, who is in charge of the overseas complaint cell established at the LHC, directed the judges of the district judiciary in the Punjab to expedite the disposal of complaints filed by expatriate Pakistanis on priority.

He expressed serious dissatisfaction over the district judiciary’s performance with regard to the disposal of the complaints filed by overseas Pakistanis and emphasised that the situation must be addressed without delay.
