LAHORE:

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema on Wednesday stressed the need for hard work to steer the country out of the crisis.

He was addressing teachers and students at University of the Punjab’s (PU) Law College.

PU Vice Chancellor Mujahid Kamran, Social Sciences Department Dean Zakaria Zakir, Law College Principal Shazia Naureen, Capital City Police Officer Shafiq Ahmad, DIG Tariq Malik and SSP Athar Waheed were also present.

Kamran said there were about 1.5 billion Muslims in the world but their contribution to innovation in various fields was next to nothing.

He also said that the average spending on education was five per cent of the GDP  for most countries in the world. Pakistan, however, spent less than two per cent on education.

Earlier, Cheema asked students questions related to road safety.
