Constable, security guard killed
The perpetrators managed to flee unnoticed afterwards.
PESHAWAR:
A police constable and security guard were gunned down near Industrial Estate, Kohat Road on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Bhanamari police, constable Muhammad Ali of the Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) was on guard duty outside City Hospital alongside security guard Irfan when armed men shot them dead. The perpetrators managed to flee unnoticed afterwards.
“It seems to be a personal feud rather than terrorism. Irfan, a resident of Chaghar Mati village, had been involved in a land dispute,” said a police official. An FIR has been registered against Zahoor Ahmad, Ijaz Ahmad and Khaisata Khan from Chaghar Mati, he added.
Meanwhile, constable Majid Khan, who was shot at by unidentified men in Hayatabad, Phase-VII, succumbed to his injuries at Hayatabad Medical Complex Tuesday morning.
Majid was attacked by two men on motorcycles while he was on a motorcycle himself, patrolling the area on Monday night. The constable was a resident of Regi village and joined the police in 2011.
