KARACHI: A non-governmental organisation, Saiban, working for the cause of getting justice for innocent prisoners has helped seven captives in their release from the Malir District Jail . Saiban chairperson Haq Nawaz Akhtar paid the fine and the travelling expenses and helped the seven get released. The released persons had completed their sentences but had not been freed because they could not pay their fines, said a press release here on Sunday. When District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Yameen visited the Malir District Jail on Saturday, seven prisoners informed him that they had completed their sentence but were in jail because they were unable to pay the fine. Haq Nawaz Akhtar then paid their fine amount, and the judge ordered the immediate release of the prisoners.
