Explosion: Blast at Gurumandir outside OCS office

An explosive device was planted at the gates of Overseas Courier Service (OCS) office located at Gurumandir.

A low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) went off outside the gate of a private courier company at Gurumandir on Wednesday night.


According to Soldier Bazaar police, the device was planted at the gates of Overseas Courier Service (OCS) office located at Gurumandir.

The blast damaged the shutters of the office and a showcase inside it. Soldier Bazaar SHO Sohail Sulehri said that no one was hurt in the blast. Around 500 grammes of explosive was used in the bomb and it had no ball bearings or nut bolts.

Police said that the office was not receiving any threats or calls for extortions but still the police suspect the involvement of extortionists. An FIR no. 126/2014 of the blast was registered at the Soldier Bazaar police station under section 3 and 4 of the Explosives Act on behalf of OCS employee Sohail Razi. Police are investigating the case.
