Sadaqat Jatoi, Dadan Chandio, Ali Khan Jatoi and Muhammad Usman Jatoi moved the court, citing the Sindh home secretary, secretary of the forest department, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sardar Chandio, Buhran Chandio, chief conservator forests and other forest officials as respondents. According to the constitutional petition, soon after the October 2008 elections, the EDO Revenue visited lands owned by the Jatois and their allies. Their land allotments or ‘khata lands’ were cancelled and then encroached on by bandits, who were allegedly harboured by the Chandios.
The total land measures about 400 acres and was either ancestral or purchased by them from agricultural workers during 1996 to 1997. They spent a huge amount of money to develop the land.
