Nasreen Naz
Sindhi film and television star, Nasreen Naz, was kidnapped by unidentified men as she made her way to Shikarpur from Ratodero last Wednesday.
The day before she went missing she was booked to shoot for a film and was also scheduled to shoot for a Sindhi drama in Larkana on Friday.
According to the sources, Naz had left Karachi on Monday for her film shoot in Shikarpur and was scheduled to be in Larkana for her television drama but never made it there. While speaking to The Express Tribune, her daughter Sonam said that two men in a white Mehran came to their house on University Road, Karachi, on Sunday and asked her mother to act in their film.
Naz's daughter claimed that the men gave her mother Rs10,000 as an advance and she accepted the role.
According to Sonam, her mother left for Larkana on Monday and was in contact with her family till Tuesday.
"We thought she might be busy shooting and her cell phone was switched off because of that," said the daughter. "We got alarmed when Aziz Sangi, a director my mother was working with, called and asked where she was. It was then that we realised that something was wrong." She added that her mother did not want to work with those men who came to their house on Sunday but since she had accepted the advance, she went.
Sangi told The Express Tribune that Naz was scheduled to act in his Sindhi drama ‘Karo Sijj’ (the Black Sun), on Friday and when she didn't show up for shooting, he tried to get in touch but her cell phone was switched off. Afterwards Sangi got in touch with her family and they told him she had left for Larkana on Monday. He said that they had come to know that the actress had left for Shikarpur with two men on Tuesday and had been missing since then.

I pray that her kidnappers possess a modicum of sanity/humanness , and shun from their resort to rape in order to assert their power over the cheerful actress, who just spread happiness in the wretched villages of 'Unhappy Valley' by her frank spontaneous acting . Generally a depressive news- a grim reminder that Sindh - yes that" land of sufis,poets and deshis, feudal lords and opportunistic middles class, and frustrated youth and male chauvinists and literary trolls - is regressive when it comes to status of woman in Sindhi society.
Why on earth did she go with unknown people without investigating and making a complete background check? Anyhow I hope she returns home safe and sound.

The CM Sindh, the IG Sindh, DIG Larkana, DIG Sukkur are requested to please take up this case very personally and seriously, as kidnapping in any form, cannot be condoned or ignored, especially the kidnapping of woman, which is against the traditions and culture of Sindh. This lady is an icon of Sindhi drama and her kidnapping will definitely have a very negative impact on the growth and progress of Sindhi theater.

The so called people of soil has raped this great land of Sindh more than anyone or people of karachi, that include all the Sindhis of different ethnicity who are more loyal to this land and its people then you and people of your mentality. Do you know how much people of Karachi go out and work in interior Sindh to make life of poors better and donation that goes to such places? Hi , Thousands people are kidnapped and murdered in interior Sindh , can you tell me where is external Sindh. I am surprised how the third generation of immigrants did not accept Sindh as mother land. they are eating in Sindh , living in Sindh enjoying all the benefits of the land but still hate the mother . what an irony!!!!!!!!!!!!! coming to the point if thousand people would have been kidnaped and murdered then entire population would have been kidnaped and murdered. Can you speak sense . there is no doubt that the crime is every district of Sindh which is condemnable and the mismanagement and failure of government. but it is also white lie that crime is not reported of other district of Sindh as reported of capital city. capital cities have always imp where in Sindh
Thousands of people are kidnapped and thousands more are murdered in Interior Sindh but this matter doesn't get media attention like the way crimes in Karachi are highlighted. There are bigger target killers, gangs and extortionists in Interior Sindh and people need to be saved!
