The MQM has been unhappy with the way the interior ministry has handled the issue related to party chief Altaf Hussain's application for a Pakistani identity card and a Pakistani passport.
Today, Subzwari told the media that it is a shameful how Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was dealing with the whole situation. He requested that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the federal government should take notice of this and demanded that those responsible should be held accountable.
On May 12, the interior ministry had stated that the MQM chief had not followed the proper procedure regarding the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and passport application. To this, MQM leaders have expressed disappointment and deep frustration.
The MQM representative further told the media that the interior ministry should be magnanimous and should show respectable behaviour.
Subzwari added that the MQM will continue to stage protests until the matter was resolved.

@AR: Who told you this? Pakistanis can have dual nationality which means you can have NICOP, Passport etc.

Why a British citizen need Pakistani Passport and NIC? Why does he want to flee from England.
Observor : You seriously believe in all this? I mean Voting in Karachi is through the gun NA-250 is a proof, and what happened on 12 May is pretty obvious. There is no other city in Pakistan with MQM except Karachi and Hyderabad, neither were they able to gain any achievement over the past 15 years in term of representatives in the assembly.
@Pakistani 1: The sooner we become Pakistani than Punjabi, Pathan, Sindhi and Baloch the better. The goal of Pakisan will be achieved as a country of Muslims. Since the MQM has given recognition to urdu speaking people in Pakistan, the Punjabi establishment is become enemy of them and do not want tolerate them in the port city of Pakistan, and killing them everyday in the name of operation and criminals. Karachi is the most educated city in the Pakistan and always voted for MQM. Educated people cannot be idiot at all, they know who are their genuine leadership.

Two generations of Mohajirs is destroyed by the MQM, led by the inane, hind-sighted, racist, linguistic and narrow-minded leadership. Earlier Urdu speaking people were known as educated, cultured and professionals in the country, but thanks to MQM now they are known as bhatta khors, terrorists, and ethnic based people...what a shame. The sooner we get rid of MQM, the better.

Altaf Hussain is not entitled to a Pakistani passport cause when he claimed asylum it was from state of Pakistan and he needed protection from Pakistan and now begging like a true beggar for same passport. And according to survey Pakistani passport is the worst in the world and UK is no 1 when it comes to traveling if Altaf wants he can give me his British passport and I can give him my Pakistani passport How's that for a deal lol
Just watched a video on Samaa TV channel where Altaf Hussein talks says that UK government is giving him lot of problems and that he wants to die in Pakistan. He says his health is bad. He goes on to say that UK government has frozen all his bank accounts and have also seized the coins he collects a hobby. He cries when he says that he does not want to commit suicide. He talks of betrayal by PPP and PML-N and everyone else.
What can I do now? I cannot make any comment ridiculing him or say anything against him.

In the end he will get his NIC and Pakistani Passport. So why is the government making all this fuss. If he has his old NIC, then no problem. That's enough proof to give him his passport. Well what does the British law say in this situation is not clarified yet.

As Altaf Hussain is now a British citizen, so by law he cannot be issued a NICOP. NICOP is for Pakistani citizens living abroad. He is only eligible to get POC (Pakistan origin card) .
