LAHORE:
A bank robbery took place today (Monday) in Lahore's Azam Cloth market in which Rs4 million were looted by armed robbers.
Security personnel at the bank say four armed men forced their way into the bank, right after opening. The robbers took bank staff hostage and took the money from cash counters before fleeing.
Police have arrested the security guard deployed at a bank on suspicion of abetment in a robbery. Superintendent Police Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) says bank staff or guards have often been found involved in several robbery cases.
