Twin explosions in Hyderabad

Four people injured rail, services suspended as two explosions hit the railway track in Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD: Trains to and from Hyderabad have been suspended after two explosions damaged the rail tracks connecting the city on Monday.

Four people have been reported injured. The explosives were planted onto the tracks leading to and from the city.

The explosions were heard by residents of the Hussainabad Wapda Colony which is adjacent to the rail tracks.

The DPO Hyderabad, Muneer Ahmad Sheikh, said the explosions have left 3 to 4 feet deep craters under the tracks adding that a four-foot stretch of the track was damaged and rail services have been suspended.

A Police investigation team and bomb disposal squad reached the site of the explosions.

The explosions were heard around midday. Rescue teams had rushed to the explosion site as soon as the explosions were heard.
