Two people shot dead, four bodies found

Insurance company director kidnapped two weeks ago, released later.

A director of a private insurance company and an employee of a tyre-manufacturing company were shot dead in separate acts of target killings on Saturday. Meanwhile, four bodies were found from different parts of the city.


An executive-director of Adamjee Insurance Company was shot dead at Sharae Faisal on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as 52-year-old Syed Najam Nasir, son of Mujeedur Rehman.

Police officials and witnesses said that at least two armed motorcyclists opened fire at him while he was on the way to work. Shah Faisal Colony SP Ali Asif said that the victim had been abducted by unknown persons on April 24 but had later been released.

An employee of a private tyre-manufacturing company was shot dead near his home in Gulshan-e-Bunair, Quaidabad. Police officials said that at least four armed men, on two motorcycles, targeted and killed the victim who was later identified as 27-year-old Abdul Sami. Separately, the bodies of two men were found from different location in Khuldabad, Shah Latif Town.

One of the victims was later identified as Lal Muhammad, son of Bahar Ali. The second victim, who has yet to be identified, was stabbed to death by unidentified persons on Saturday. In an unrelated incident, a young scrap dealer, 27-year-old Zubair Farooq, was found dead from inside his home at Bilal Chowk, New Karachi.Meanwhile, police found a 10-day-old body of a young man from Manghopir.
