ISLAMABAD:

An employee of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government died and two others sustained injuries in a road accident on the Islamabad Express Highway in the Koral area late Wednesday night.

The three persons hailing from Mardan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) were critically injured when their vehicle overturned after hitting the divider of the road.

The injured, identified as Amjad Ali, Muhammad Salim and Abid Ali, were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. Abid Ali, a clerk working for the K-P government, died before reaching the hospital.

In their statement to the Rescue 15 officials, they said they came to attend PTI sit-in at the D-Chowk.

An official of Rescue 15, wishing anonymity, told The Express Tribune that the injured claimed their party arranged accommodation for them in the CBR Town.

PTI Provincial Secretary-General Khalid Masood rejected the statement by the injured. “This is totally baseless aimed at maligning our party.”
