Rape case: Man awarded 15 years imprisonment

A local court awarded 15 years imprisonment to a man for raping his daughter-in law.


The court also imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on the convict after finding him guilty of the offence.

The convict, who was identified as Khalid Mehmood, was produced in the court of Additional and Sessions Judge Naveed Iqbal on Thursday, where the victim’s counsel proved charges against him by producing a medical report.

Another daughter-in-law of the convict also testified the allegation against Mehmood saying he also sexually assaulted her.

Mehmud had been accused by his daughter-in-law, Noreen*, for sexually assaulting her in July 2012.

The Airport police had arrested him after Noreen* registered an FIR against him.
