LAHORE:

The government told Lahore High Court on Wednesday that special stickers had been issued to Model Town Society residents to end inconvenience caused by the closure of a public thoroughfare next to the chief minister’s camp office.

A law officer told the court that the road had been closed off for security and to prevent any inconvenience caused to residents. He said besides issuing stickers for the residents’ vehicles, a local telephone exchange will be established for communication with residents. Expressing satisfaction with the actions, the court disposed of a petition filed by Advocate Khurram Latif Khosa. Khosa had said that police had erected barricades on a road leading to the CM’s house in the name of security, causing severe problems for the residents of Model Town’s H Block. He said the road was a public thoroughfare and could not be closed for security.
