Cricket: PCB bans Siddique on doping charges

First-class player Kashif Siddique Khan, who was representing State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in domestic cricket, has been banned for a period of two years for violating the anti-doping code.
In accordance with its Anti-Doping Rules, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had conducted random dope testing during the Faysal Bank T20 Cup held in November 2013 for detecting the use of prohibited substances.
“An adverse analytical finding was reported by the National Dope Testing Laboratory (WADA-accredited laboratory) in New Delhi against the sample collected from Siddique,” read the PCB’s official press release.
Siddique was found guilty of violating the PCB’s Anti-Doping Code and a two-year ban was imposed which is backdated to January 8 when he was suspended.
