An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from the Gujjarpura SHO in a petition seeking the registration of a case against a hospital employee accused of selling the hospital’s medicine at medical stores outside the hospital.
Petitioner Muhammad Adnan said Maulvi Irshad was an employee at Nawaz Sharif Hospital in Kot Khawaja Sharif, Lahore. “One day, Irshad gave me a carton containing medicines from the hospital store and told me to drop the box at a medical store,” he said. “Irshad tried to bribe me by promising to get me examined by professional doctors if I dropped off a carton at the medical store.”Adnan said he had tried to inform the hospital’s deputy medical superintendent but Irshad threatened him with dire consequences and later, “threatened to inject me with poison”. Adnan said he approached the police with the matter but the SHO refused to register a case against Irshad.
