PESHAWAR: Tourism Corporation Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) has declared 2015 as the year of tourism.

TCKP Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan addressed a select group of journalists this week and said despite the security situation, TCKP is committed to improving the tourism industry.

The public will be allowed to come up with a slogan for the campaign. TCKP is developing five areas, previously inaccessible, to attract tourism revenue.

He emphasised the importance of upcoming events like the Kalash spring festival and Shandur Polo Festival in Chitral. “Tourism plays an integral role in the promotion of our country’s culture and heritage,” he said.
