Govt has Rs20m for dengue expenses

Karachi City administrator says 40 additional cars have been ordered to fumigate all union councils.

KARACHI: City administrator Fazlur Rehman said the government has Rs20 million for dengue virus prevention.

Rehman spoke to journalists on his visit to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and said 40 additional cars have been ordered to fumigate all the union councils. “Meetings with chemical manufacturing companies will be held on the federal and provincial level,” he said. Most dengue cases were reported in Orangi Town, Baldia Town, New Karachi, Korangi, Liaquatabad and Gadap Town. At least 208 patients suffering from dengue have been brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the administrator said.
