MITHI: Security has been tightened in Mithi as former president Asif Ali Zardari plans to visit the city on Friday, Express News reported.

Zardari will visit Mithi Civil hospital and inspect the water filtration plant installed to provide safe drinking water to residents.

Entrances and exits of the city  as well as streets have been blocked in preparation of the former president's arrival.

Visitors have also been cleared from the hospital to ensure Zardari's security upon his visit.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will accompany Zardari on his visit.

The drought in Tharparkar has reportedly claimed around 190 children’s lives in the last four months. The government, however, accepts only about 100 of these deaths.
