Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the government and private Hajj group organisers will operate on a 50-50 quota.
He added that banks will start accepting Hajj applications from April 21 and all applications under the government scheme would be entertained on first-come-first-served basis.
The policy states that anyone who has performed Hajj during the last five years will not be eligible to partake in the pilgrimage this year except for those people who will be going as ‘Mehram’ or the ones performing ‘Hajj-e-Badal’.
The Hajj package under the government scheme will cost Rs262,231 for those pilgrims travelling from Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur, while those travelling from Peshawar, Islamabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad and Sialkot will have to pay Rs272,231.
The package is almost 16 per cent lower than the package offered in 2013 when they were priced at Rs285,070 and Rs295,070.
In relation to the draft policy for 2014, the package rates indicate that the return airfare to and from Saudi Arabia will cost Rs66,372 for those travelling from Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur, while those travelling from other stations will be charged to pay Rs76,372. These costs are included in the hajj packages mentioned.

Dear Ruqiya you need to contact with any private agent in pakistan and after ramadan you will come to take the hajj visa then up to you to go from pakistan or from cyprus
I am from Peshawar but currently in Cyprus. i want to perform Hajj this year. should i go back to Pakistan for apply to this package or can apply from here too? if any body give suggestion in this regad?

it is not possible this year. Saudi government has restricted the quota of every country, keeping in view lesser space in result of the ongoing huge reconstruction and extension. @Iram:
@Jibran: The private hajj starts from PKR 300,000 and goes upto 3 million per person. Its only a government that can offer it at a reduced or subsidized cost. And by the way it is not a "business". and should be none of your business too for people like you.

The date for start of Hajj applications is very near but the Ministry has not yet upload sample application form just for perusal and to prepare documentations for submission of application well in time. Therefore, atleast sample form may be uploaded of website.

@Bukhari: shortcut answers of ur questions is that contact any Online Hbl, national bank's etc manager, he will provide detail information to you... As i know hajj app required 12 photos original and photocopy of your id card and passport, medical certificate, and the money.

Isnt it 8% lower than the last year, on the other hand there should be regulatory for private Hajj and Umrah Tour operators, they are minting money and no one is here to ask them, what is justified and what is unjustified should be decided by the govt and implemented accordingly

if hajj was to be handled privately, a select few will be able to go only. The pvt sector is ripping off in the name of hajj to an unchecked extent, there should atleast be a %age fixed say 30% above govt rates, not charging twice or thrice above the govt given price. such sad state of affairs... have you forgotten how shroud values rose when there was an earthquake? this nation has gone to a low thats unimaginable! God help us all and guide us please!
Minister of port and shipping was announcing other day that they are offering by sea Hajj service this year, what happened to it?

the process will be very simple you prepare only your passport,4-photos,and orignal national id card. but more need to learn the hujj, meaning of jujj this is the biggest blessing from almighty Allah
i m very thankful to the government of pakistan i m feeling almighty Allah giving the right path to the government person, and feeling during hujj they will giving good conditions.
Once in lifetime, muslims are required to visit the holy Mecca to receive the cosmic energy if other conditions are applicable. Why should therefore the people be allowed to perform Haj rituals more thn once in their life time denying the opportunity to others who cannot even afford to pay todays fare from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia? Think over especially those who are fortunate to have the scholarly qualification in theology.
