Murder most foul: Woman shot dead in Mirpur

MIRPUR: A woman was shot dead here on Friday morning, police said. According to preliminary investigation by the Thothal police, a young man came to the house of the woman, identified as Nosheen Raja, in the city area at about 7am. He knocked the door and enquired about the woman who was sleeping in her room. The gunman broke into the house, shot her in the head and fled from the scene, police said quoting a boy who was present in the house. Police shifted the body to the district hospital for autopsy. Case has been registered against the unknown assailant and further investigations are in progress.
