Legendary Pakistani guitarist Asad Ahmed recently revealed the news about the launch of his own mobile application (app). He has been a member of the famous pop trio Awaz, has played with Junoon and Vital Signs and is currently a founding member of the rock band Karavan. This free mobile app lets you listen to music, check out photos and videos, read blog posts and get exclusive push notifications straight to your mobile device.

“Frankly, people today spend more time on their phones than on their computers and I think it’s about time that I provide a more easily approachable option of getting in touch with my fans,” said Asad to The Express Tribune.

“My application will be synced with all my social stuff on Facebook, MySpace, etc and the users will be aware of all the music that I will be uploading. So, if you have the app, you will know where I am, where I am performing and whatever I am playing or producing,” he added.

The app, which is powered by reverbnation.com, is currently in its testing phase. It will soon be available at the Apple Store and Play Store for downloading.

Asad has been frequently touring with Ali Zafar and is also working on a new track with Karavan. Interestingly, like most other former Coke Studio performers, Asad is not going to be a part of Coke Studio season 7.
