BB’s jewelry: PPP senator denies media reports

It is strange, illogical to assert that Zardari has asked for return of jewelry that neither belongs to him nor to BB.

ISLAMABAD: Replying to a media query about a letter – purportedly written by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to unnamed Swiss authorities through a Swiss lawyer – seeking return of jewelry allegedly belonging to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar denied any such development. He said the said jeweler, when summoned by a Swiss magistrate, had already denied that the jewelry belonged to the BB.   “Since the ownership of the jewelry has already been denied by the jeweler himself before the magistrate, it is strange and illogical to assert that Mr Asif Ali Zardari has asked for the return of the jewelry that neither belongs to him nor to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” he said. Furthermore, he said, for the past several years there has been no Swiss lawyer of Zardari in Switzerland through whom he is alleged to have approached unnamed Swiss authorities.
