Hazardous work: Movie cameraman dies in landslide

A cameraman who was part of a Pashto film crew was killed when their vehicle was hit by a landslide near Kohala.

MUZAFFARABAD: A cameraman who was part of a Pashto film crew was killed when their vehicle was hit by a landslide near Kohala, some 30 kilometres from here.  According to the police, a film unit headed by Lollywood actor Arbaz Khan was on the way back to Lahore from Muzaffarabad after a film shoot. Vehicles of the 28-member film crew were hit by the rocks, resulting in the death of cameraman Shabbir Haider on the spot, while seven others were injures. The injured were shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Doctors said that the injured people were all discharged after being given the required first aid. Khan told The Express Tribune, “During the whole stay in the upper reaches of Azad Kashmir, 70 per cent of camerawork was done by Shabbir Haider, who was a real asset for our crew. The 28-member crew is in shock over the death of our dear colleague,” Khan maintained.
