SUKKUR: A central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Hafiz Hussain Ahmed claimed on Sunday that international guarantors were trying to work out a deal under which former military ruler Pervez Musharraf could make a safe exit from the country. “If this move becomes successful, it will not only be the contempt of court, but much more than that,” Ahmed told media in Sukkur district. “How is it possible for Pervez Musharraf to fly to Dubai to see his ailing mother when he is not able to appear before the court, which is a few metres away from his house?”  “[However] the court has issued his arrest warrants for March 31. Let us see, whether the judiciary is powerful or the other forces,” the JUI-F leader said.Ahmed said it was wrong to say that the elements living in the mountains were violating the constitution. Rather, he said, such people were found everywhere.

Sania | 10 years ago | Reply This is an inter-elite war for power and pelf. The people are simply spectators. They have seen worse things being done under civilian 'democratic' rule as well as some under military rule. A benevolent dictatorship would do more for them than the corrupt, hypocritical 'democratic' elite interested only in self-enrichment and self-aggradisement! Musharraf's chief mistake is his return to Pakistan, which he must by now be regretting.
